Hi all, bit of background I’ve been challenged to a bet to see who can grow the tallest sunflower this year. Best of 3 sunflowers of any type, last year I get some that got to about 2 metre, the person I’m challenging is been given some seed that can reach 3meter, so...

also any tips for maximum growth for them

Titan and Mongolian Giant are excellent choices more for the largest flowers and seed heads. They're not the tallest varieties.

For a height competition you could get some Giraffe seeds from Suttons.

Another very tall variety to consider is a hybrid called American Giant F1.

I'm growing helianthus giganteus. Probably not that giganteus, compared to Russian Giant etc, but gets to a good height and is perennial to boot.
