The joys of Spring!

Walked into town this morning along a lane between two housing estates. In spring the banks are covered in Celandines and are an absolute joy!

Also where grass has not been cut over the winter there is an abundance of flowers everywhere.

    They look lovely.
I'm miffed because the local council carried out the first of their regular strimming of the verge outside our house last week - and promptly cut all the primroses off.  They didn't trim the roadside verges though which would have been more use in our narrow lane. Three men and two lorries, ten minutes work!

That looks great. All verges should look like that

I love to see wild flowers allowed to flourish like this. Lovely photos.

In this area (compared to the previous area) of Belgium they are much better at giving wildlife friendly plants a chance. There are verges full of them, large areas of pulmonaria and other beautiful flowers around wetlands and traffic islands full with them too. It's great to see instead of just grass or pavements.
