Forsythia Abeliophyllum distichum

pr1mr0sepr1mr0se Posts: 1,178
Not being a fan of the bright yellow forsythia, I came across a white form.  It looks lovely, and is a controllable size.  Thus far, I have found two companies that could supply it:  J. Parker (not a good experience of the company in the past) and You Garden, a company that I haven't previously come across.
Has anyone experience of the shrub in general, and of the company that could supply it?

It's very pretty Shrinking Violet. There are other suppliers listed on the RHS site

Thank you AnniD - I'm checking those suppliers out.  The nearest to me is RHS Rosemoor - so I may just be forced to take another trip there.  Well - it would be rude not to visit the gardens at the same time, wouldn't it? ;)

It certainly would, they would be very offended if you didn't call in ! Hopefully they'll have the forsythia you're after.  :)

The yellow is cheering early in the year! But I agree, white would be even better. If only it flowered for longer. I'm going to put some clematis (not decided which yet) over mine to keep the interest going.

Just spent a few pennies on that site, the white forsythia was on sale! Can’t resist a bargain!

Thanks for all the useful feedback.  I have had to put a trip to Rosemoor on hold for now, so I have ordered my white forsythia from You Garden (and been tempted with other purchases at the same time!).
