Grass?

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me with identifying what type of grass this is (from my garden). I need to do some repair and I am keen to sow seed which matches (as closely as possible) in an effort to avoid digging up huge tracts of lawn and reseeding the lot

    is there any way of identifying grass from a photo really? My request (I knew) was always a long shot. Thanks for your help

    Suggest you try Google ..lawn grass identification UK  otherwise just scarify the area and overseed with a grass that suits your area. It look quite a fine grass so look at those.

    I did overseed  one part but it came up much lighter. I think what I have is a decades old mishmash. I'll check Google
