lol, you're not alone. Hubby's sister saw it and said " do all your neighbours use your box too?"

Well, someone has to keep the recycling men in a job.

Thank you so much, I’m so pleased I posted this thread, I know it’s somewhat off topic! I’m very grateful for all your support!

my Dad gave up smoking when it got to the point he could barely speak a sentence without rupturing himself coughing. He’d smoked Park Drive and backy his whole life, then stopped, just like that- he never managed the booze though Hosta- I’m well impressed!

I didnt smoke when pregnant and for years in between- didn’t start until I was about 18! (Although inhaled enough of my dads!) I’ve never smoked in the house and never in front of the kids, which is a good thing I think.

All going well and even though I thought this evening would be hard once dinner was over, it’s actually been ok so far! I just feel very pleased with myself- I’ve even eaten very healthily today! Hubs is out this evening so I’m having an early night with my I-pad/headphones to watch some crap on catchup lol!

The thing that made most sense to me was: you have a cigarette to calm you down, you have a cigarette to help you think, you have a cigarette to energise you.
How does the cigarette know what you want it to do?
It doesn't give you anything extra. Having a cigarette just puts you level with a non-smoker because you've got rid of the craving for about 20minutes.

Folk have said to me : " won't you have a drink on your Birthday / at a party / at Christmas?" etc but for me there was always an excuse:
I've had a great day at work, let's have a drink.
I've lost my job, I need a drink.
    I've got a new job, let's celebrate.
Hasn't the weather been awful, let's have  a drink.
Isn't this weather divine, let's have a drink.

Every situation could let me to say, " I fancy a drink" and I'm sure it's the same with smoking.
I hope you felt the same satisfaction when you went to bed last night and thought, "I've not had one today" that I get, every day. ( Gave up Feb 5th 2016 )

I also believe it was easier for me because it was MY choice to stop, nobody nagged me , the Doc didn't say I was in danger, I wasn't short of money due to buying booze etc. I just decided " I'm going to stop for a bit and see how it goes" and I've never had one since.
    Devon.

That’s what I said earlier Hosta, you’ve got to do it because you want too, if you dislike something enough, you will do it.
much like abused wives/husband, put up with it for so long then just say, NO MORE!

You are absolutely spot on Hosta, there is always a reason.
If you are not in the right state of mind, it’s harder. I’ve been wanting to stop for a while but just didn’t feel ready, then I ran out of backy on Monday night and at that moment knew it was the right time.
Feel great today, still very motivated, slightly stronger pangs are kicking in, but not too bad and soon forgotten if I keep busy.
