I have a border which is in direct sunlight all day at one end i have a red robin and the other end is a jasmine in between I've grew all sorts but all seem to frazzled in the sun ideas for plants/shrubs welcome

If the soil's reasonably free draining, it sounds like a good spot for a 'mediterranean' bed - rosemary, lavender, salvias, anthemis, sedums etc

What size is the border? There may also be a lot of competition for water there from the two plants you already have, which could inhibit the growth of anything you're putting in. The soil type will also be a factor, as Will says.

I think your right fairy girl.we inherited the jasmine and red robin when we moved in and are more like trees which we severely cut back every year. Soil is almost sand like so dry.Think they might have to come out eventually and start again.
