ID for large evergreen tree

Hi,I have a large evergreen tree in my garden.It is about 20 feet tall at the moment.It has recently started to be covered in tiny pinkish blossom ,if in fact it is blossom!? This doesn't happen every year.It is very popular with the garden birds.I would just like to know what it is.

They look like the male flowers of Chamaecyparis lawsoniana (Lawson's Cypress) ; and very nice too !

Thanks so much.It is such a magnificent tree and supports so many birds..siskins,chaffinch,blue tits ,great tits,coal tits,lesser spotted woodpecker and gold finch.

Sounds like a haven for our feathered friends Elizabeth ; glad to have helped .

By the way , the tree is wind pollinated !

I've got one of them (more than one in fact), but have yet to see anything like that!

We have plenty of wind in Scotland!

I only noticed the pink flowers about 5 years ago...then again now.
