Hello,

I am looking for a shrub with the following qualities:

[  ] Pale colourful flowers
[  ] Yes: yellow, pink, orange
[  ] No: white, red, purple, blue
[  ] Fragrant
[  ] Ever-green
[  ] Shade-loving
[  ] Acidic clay soil
[  ] Self-standing / not a crawler
[  ] Under 1.5 meter tall (i.e. can be pruned to this height)

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

You can take a look at Abelia 'Edward Goucher'. Very slight scent. If planted in shadier locations, less prolific flowering. Osmanthus x Burkwoodii is a slow grower so easy to manage at the height you require. Scented small white flowers in spring into summer.

    Camelia?
North East Somerset - Clay soil over limestone
  • Great suggestions, thank you!

How well would a Rhododendron Fragrantissimum cope?

The spot gets some sun very first thing in the morning, probably from 5am-8am.
