Potting up a Skimmia Madonna

I have a skimmia Madonna which I would like to have next to our back door. That area is decked so I'm opting to pot it up, but what I wanted advice on is the size of pot? I know some plants prefer to be potted on as they grow, but find it a pain repotting big plants unless they are in pots you are happy to break and I had my sights set on a spherical pot which are pretty awkward to get plants out of once the roots have filled the space. The plant is supposed to grow 100cmH x 100cm W so I'm wondering how big a pot?

I'f you're absolutely set on a spherical pot for appearance, I recommend choosing one that's big enough so that you can have the shrub in a normal-shaped plastic pot inside.  Otherwise you won't be able to get the shrub out to refresh the compost unless you break the pot.  I discovered that the hard way when I was a beginner gardener.  These days pots that go in at the top are kept for bedding plants, annual climbers etc. only.
