Wandering Jew Dying - help!!

I’m not sure why my plant is dying - what is wrong with it and is it salvageable? My wandering Jew is really crispy and the live parts are very sparse. The soil doesn’t really look dry to me, which would be my first instinct. I’m new to gardening, so any help is welcome!

I am no houseplant expert, but l know they can go like that due to overwatering as well as underwatering. It looks like quite an old plant ? If you can, l would tip it out of the pot and have a look at the roots, also the compost. Does it smell mouldy?
You can take cuttings from any green bits at the ends, put them in water and they should root quite easily.
