Lawn Restoration

My front lawn measuring 5 x 8m is in need of restoration. Can you advise please ?  Last summer I applied weed & feed (B & Q own brand). Unfortunately I over applied and burnt most of the grass.
This is the start of my problem ... foxes have now started to dig up bare patches of lawn. There are several shallow holes - looking for earthworms I suppose.
I recently bought an electric rake/scarifier from Aldi.
The lawn is mostly in shade.
How do I set about restoration??

There’s quite a few current and many previous threads which will give you the advice you need. Websites such as lawnsmith have lots of good basic info too.

Timing is good now for scarifying and if you can aerate that would help also. The foxes may be digging for grubs (chafer / leatherjackets) as well as worms so you might need to address that in the autumn. It’s not worth doing now.

Scarify. Fill holes. Light top dress if needed. Seed (shade tolerant seed). Wait.
  • Many thanks,
I'm hoping to get it done ASAP.
It does look a bit of a mess at the moment. I've always taken pride in how the lawn looks. I just overdid the weed & feed. I'll be more careful in future.  Cheers.
