Bird of Paradise

We have two bird of paradise plants that we have outdoors most of the year but in the cooler months we put them in the garage. They bloom when they are in the garage but not when they are outside. We live in South Carolina and would like to know if these plants would bloom more inside?

Hello susan. This is a United Kingdom site where most of our members live so you would be better trying to find an American version of this forum where you can get advice more suited to your area. I know that these flourish well where my brother in Australia lives. Unfortunately, here in the UK our weather is much less dependable.

Mine stays out for the summer, I bring it in when the weather gets chilly, It always blooms in the winter, this year it had 4 flowers.  Poor thing is so pot bound I can’t get any water in the pot, seems to thrive on neglect. I suppose coming from hot dry dusty countries that’s how they like it.
