Stray Clematis!

Last year I had a beautiful white Clematis climbing up my 6ft fence.
This year it seems to have strayed to the end of my 80ft garden and has turned yellow! Therefore I'm not getting so much pleasure from it. Can anybody help please as to why this may have happened?
