As the leaves gradually died off on each plant, I started to put
them in to large pots of 50/50 soil & grit sand outdoors as a sort of 2nd chance. There were no
roots at this time. One or two seem like they are still alive, but
it is too early to say for sure what is happening. Will update in due course.
Cuttings straight from tree to pots outdoors
Around mid Feb
2019) I also took some cuttings from the same tree to place directly in to soil from day one. Certainly some of these seem to be doing something now and look quite healthy. See photos just taken today, so about nearly 2 months since planting.
It is
tempting to have a look for roots, but I am going to wait until about
November. I will then put any successful ones-with roots in to
individual pots at that time. Will update on these nearer the time with
more photos if good results.
