Seed saving

I have just been on Tomato variety thread and received helpful information. This got me thinking I use a lot of lemons if I sow the pips from the lemon or even oranges will they grow, also would they be OK growing in a pot and over wintered in a shed?

I’ve got  2 lemon trees growing from pips, I don’t know if they’ll fruit but they are nice little houseplants at the moment. I don’t think you’ll get oranges, but lemons do fruit in this country.   Whether from just sowing pips, I don’t know.

Thanks Lyn, nothing ventured nothing gained as the say I plant the lemons and maybe try a couple of orange and see what happens. Would be nice to get some lemons maybe they need to be of a certain age before fruiting. I've got itchy fingers just want to get sowing and planting now.

Mine are only about 12” tall at the monent, they need repotting so maybe they’ll grow on this year and fruit next, I don’t know.
