My two new blueberry bushes have arrived safe and sound! Look nice and healthy and are bursting into leaf! I used Trehane nursery- not used them before so wanted to recommend.

i got Chandler and Patriot as a birthday gift! 😀

  • Good choice of supplier and varieties.  They are very strong and healthy looking plants - you should do very well with those! :)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Hope so! I’ve never grown them before, but know the basics (acid soil/feed, preferably rainwater) and they came with lots of information so fingers crossed! Now to construct a little fruit cage for them! 😀

Happy to see this. I ordered from them on 21/2 (Duke, Chandler and Sunshine Blue), now waiting for them to arrive. The Chandler looks like it could give you a good crop this year!

I nearly went for Sunshine Blue too! I got the larger Chandler as they’d run out of smaller size. I have no idea what to expect in terms of crop- I figured I’d only get a handful for the first couple of years! 😬

Flinster- I’m planning to grow blueberries on a long thin strip against a garden fence. Will obviously need protection from birds so need some netting. Would appreciate any ideas as how to do this as can’t have a cage due to space restrictions. No DIY skills!😕

I’d just fix bird net to the fence and drape it over a couple of canes at the front- use stones to weigh it down at the sides? Simple but should work!
