Rhodi looks sick...

The leaf rosettes are drooping, and it looks sad. But it is in bud.
There are dark brown spots/patches on undersides of leaves.
It was magnificent last year, although I notice that the leaf rosettes were also downturned, maybe this is it's normal habit?.
Is there something wrong with this shrub, if so are the spots a cause or indicative of a problem? 
Would appreciate any comments and advice of any action I need to take?..

    @owd potter Just bumping up your thread for you to see if anyone out there can help.
    It would be a shame to lose such a lovely plant.

    No personal experience of this either but I suspect it may have been stressed by the heat and drought last summer.   My inclination would be to make sure it isn't thirsty and give it a tonic of liquid sequestered iron at the roots and a foliar feed of Epsom salts diluted 15ml to 5 litres poured over the leaves.   These will help with any iron and magnesium deficiencies that weaken ericaceous plants.
