Best Tall Trees for Containers

We need to provide some screening/privacy in a certain area of our garden, where there is no soil available. Any suggestions for a soft foliage, evergreen tree that we could plant into a large container to give us the height we need, which is around 3-4 metres?

You will need  a very large container. For evergreen cover, take a look at Eucalyptus Gunnii. Usually a fast growing plant, but normally more controlled in a container. Easily pruned back early.
  • If it's not going in the ground how about bamboo, lots of colour choices and faster growing.🤔

I'd also suggest bamboo. You can get ones with yellow, green or black canes (after 2-3 years) which would grow quite tall quite quickly.  You would need to keep them very well watered in the summer.
