Sunday 24th feb , Watford. 1 clump of spawn this morning, i hadnt thought to look before cos we usually get it in early march and i havnt heard any frogs croaking so far. One small frog was visible.
I thought our dog had driven all our frogs away, but yesterday I saw three frogs in the pond clasping one another at the base of the pond which I think means mating / producing spawn!
Not a drop or should that be a clump of spawn, nothing. So disappointed. However we are hoping to see some newts soon and then the dreaded mosquito larvae will probably rear up from the depth of the pond.
