I meant to tell you about our lunch yesterday https://www.whitehorsebrancaster.co.uk/

The sun was shining, the tide was out and the view from our table across the mud flats was stunning ... little boats bobbing in the creeks, loads of gulls, waders and a couple of egrets feeding in the mud and a pair of red kites wheeling in the sky above us, their red feathers glowing in the sun.

OH had the Whipped Goats Cheese with pear which he announced was wonderful and I had the roasted scallops with parsnip fried, pureed and pickled ... to die for.

He then had baked ray wing with grapes and an almond butter sauce, minted new potatoes and buttered purple sprouting broccoli and chiffonade kale. I chose the roast hake with sautéed potatoes, mussels, wild leeks and a butter sauce and broccoli and kale as before. Both were absolutely wonderful. Really really good. Highly recommended thumbsup clap yum Service was spot on too.

We finished with very good macchiato before driving along the coast to Cromer for a teatime ice cream on the pier ..... a great (if slightly delayed) birthday celebration ... we decided not to go at the end of January when my birthday occurred because we knew that once the weather improved the views would be fantastic D

Hello.  Been painting but have stopped for lunch which has to be soft as OH is just back from the dentist and a root treatment.  Fortunately we have some fish gratin to eat up.

Lunch sounds lovely Dove.  Hope Pdoc is enjoying Moira's gourmet weekend.

Sunny here after a clear and frosty start.   I rather think winter might come back to bite you Hosta.  Bit early for spring yet.   Hi Wonky.  Hope you get some gardening therapy.   I expect you can get lots don BL, while OH is singing all day.....

    Afternoon all!

Busy morning in Halifax, arranging an Executor's Account at the bank and doing some shopping.  An unexpected bonus was the pop-up market, with lots of fair trade goodies, in one of the pedestrian streets.

I don't think I said Congrats to Senior Chicklet on her job!  It just goes to show that you can't always tell how well you've done in an interview.  Good to hear Little Chicklet is improving, too...

Don't think I'd invest £4.3m in that house, Dove... for various reasons, one of which is that I don't have a spare £4.3m... but also, it's perilously close to the sea if global warming causes the predicted rise in sea level...   :o

Now it's back to the garden.  Yay!

    Evening all.
Not the house  , or the location where I'd spend that money on either.

I've spent the most wonderful day with a friend I've not seen in almost 25 years, when we used to use pubs in Surrey and Hubby and I had just got together.
He now lives about 3 miles from us.
I've only just realised we talkedand we walked round the garden , but forgot to have any lunch!! No wonder I'm hungry now.

I am Guayaquil airport, Ecuador, after having to repack the bags at checkin. We didn't have extra, just too much in one bag and not enough in another.  I threw away the wrecked pair of trainers (salt water and lava not good for them). I was going to stick them back together and use them in the garden, But at a cost of $100 plus ecuadorian sales tax to bring them home, I figured I could buy a new pair.
an overnight 12 hour flight to look forward to. Oh joy. Beam me up Scotty.
