What kind of cactus is this ?

Hello can anyone help identify what kind of cactus this is please ? I have had it for almost a year and just want to make sure I am looking after it properly !

    I don't know the type but I'd say that it's sitting too deep in that pot. They like a lot of light so it's better to have them sitting too high than too low. You risk more chance of damp as well because the base won't be as well ventilated and air movement is essential around cacti.

    What soil are you using and do you have a layer of gravel over the soil? It's hard to see in the photo.

    Looks like a Mammillaria. There are 200 different types of Mammillaria.
