Raspberries still fruiting

Can someone please let me know why my raspberry plants are still producing a few ripe raspberry every week, lots earlier in the year but today is 13th November.  They are planted up against a wooden fence, get sun in the afternoon, no protection of any sort used all year or any fertiliser used.  Occasionally during this last very hot summer I did water them and the surrounding plants.

Are they autumn fruiting varieties or are they all summer fruiting that are producing late fruits? This year is a bit messed up all round. I've got mahonias in flower that usually flower in January and a hebe in flower that should have been done in September.

  • Sorry but do not know, they were there last year when I moved in on 17th November.  I know that this year is a bit warmer than usual but fruit on 13th November and more to come?!

I just had a look and my autumn canes are still fruiting. They've gone on till december in some mild years. We tend to just leave them for the birds though.

I cant answer, but my Hubby has picked a couple of bowls full these past few days, we inherited them, so am not sure whether they are autumn fruiting or not, they seemed to start mid summer, dont mind though, had them in a smothie for breakfast!
  • Don't worry just enjoy them but I suspect they will stop after the first hard frost
