I saw the headlines about Sunak's dishonesty. When's the last time you read of an honourable member of the government doing a decent or selfless thing? I can only think that members of the government have all availed themselves of sturdy bushels because there isn't a chink of light coming from any of them.
Such behaviour always reminds me of one of my seminars as an undergraduate. The teacher posed the question, "Why did Macbeth kill Duncan?" One of the undergraduates put it very succinctly: "Because he could!"
It seems to me that this lot also behave as they do because they can; their unethical boss - who's been given an unchallengeable majority - makes sure they can get away with it?
