What’s this on a Hearts Entangled? This has grown recently, is it some kind of seed pod perhaps?

I used to have a huge Hearts Entangled which flowered a lot but it never set seeds ... those must be seed pods. Can’t think what else they could be ...

I think the pods will eventually dry and open releasing 'fluffy' seeds.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
