How to winter hanging Blackberry plants.

I bought three hanging Blackberry plants and they have made some growth and even produced a few Blackberries which do not taste very nice. The problem as I see it is that if I leave them in hanging baskets over the winter they will freeze into blocks of ice.  Would anyone care to suggest what I should do to over winter them.

Hanging blackberries??? Not come across these ... the only blackberries I know are huge bushes and usually covered with thorns ...  they wouldn't be at all suitable for hanging baskets ... I'm intrigued ... are these a new tamer variety? ... can we have some photos please?

Can't see the point of them! If you want enough blackberries to do anything with, then you need a decent size plant or two.

I got a couple of tarts from mine this summer, with more in the freezer and you will never get that from a hanging basket!

In any case there are plenty of prettier and friendlier things you could grow in it.
