What is this ?????

Hello, I bought this interesting plant today from a garden centre, but non of the staff could tell me what it is ... any ideas ? Very heavily rooted, packed tightly in its pot, looks a bit banana like but really not got a clue !

  • The only plant I can think of is some type of Arum Lily. :)
  • It could be a malformed cheese plant (Monstera deliciosa) The leaves look as though they have been curled up and are trying to sort themselves out. Garden Centres often get mixed selections of houseplants from Holland and the plants are quite tightly packed on the trollies.

I suggest a rather mutilated colocasia or alocasia. My guess its that it has been hit with some sort of herbicide which has mutated the leaves.

Has it been attacked by white fly and sprayed?

  • Yorkshire rose and hostafan i can See what you mean... to be fair the more I look the more cheeseplant I see (disappointingly) but it’s leaves aren’t as waxy/thick as the huge cheese plant we already have!
lyn, I’ve no clue if it’s been sprayed, there were 5 of these poorly looking plants and I just got it to see what it turns into!
thanks all...any further suggestions gratefully received
