Protecting herbs outdoors

hi, I ve sown sage and thyme in the ground, next to wall, using cuttings. Is there any way to protect them from gusty winds till they get strong roots. I do not have indoor space nor do I have green house.
Thanks in advance.

So long as they're in a sunny position and in free draining soil they'll be fine over winter.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Sage and thyme often die off here because of the general climate and I grow in pots because of conditions, but they don't die because of wind - it's cold/wet which they don't like long term
