Is the wall yours? If so you could attach wires and grow climbers to hide it, otherwise go with self supporting Shrubs. Make you sitting area in the place that gets the most sun. Consider whether children will be playing in the garden if you want a water feature. A deep pond may not be suitable, but the small fountains that have a protected sump area would be.
You don't stop doing new things because you get old, you get old because you stop doing new things. <3

Rope swags across corner with climber of your choice with bench /seat under. Shaped beds either side with scented plants, and then raised water feature/bed. Eye level brakes up a garden.

If you are going to keep that bed along the wall (Or even only a part of it), l would widen it considerably. Anything planted nearby would struggle , but it is a lovely wall and obviously gets the sun. Now is a good time to at least make a start - assuming you are planning on doing it yourself, you wil soon warm up ! :) . If you leave it all until the Spring, you may feel a bit overwhelmed,  and if at least the basics have started, even if it's just the marking out of beds, paving, water feature etc., it will give you some idea of what works and what doesn't . You have definitely come to the right place for advice !
