Don't be fixated with removing staples and ink and glue. Get rid of all the tape though, I'll be there forever. As has been said, use cardboard and grass cuttings to make your own compost/mulch. There's plenty of stuff on you tube to help you along. Some weird and wonderful, but some very useful stuff.
The ink is fine these days, not like newspaper print of old. Remove the tape and staples as they won't rot down then wet and tear the cardboard to add to your compost heap.
When you do mulch with chipped bark or whatever, make sure it's after a good heavy downpour or three. Never mulch dry soil as you're just locking in dryness.
