Help for lavender germination

Hi,
I had sown lavender seeds on 24th September. I am spraying water regularly (I read the soil needs to be damp), but I don't see any progress. I tried to keep it under sunlight too.
Am I going wrong somewhere? What should I do? Please help.
Thank you :) .

It's only 5 days since you sowed them - give 'em a chance :)
I sowed some about a month ago, there are lots of little seedlings now. I left them in the shade behind the greenhouse to germinate, now they're in the cold frame

Pete's right - even in summer, seeds would struggle to germinate in five days. At this time of year, they'll be slower.
Don't overdampen the soil - they'll tend to rot rather than sprout if they get too wet. It's sometimes a tricky balance with water - just dampen when they look a bit dry. The soil shouldn't be constantly wet  :)

Oh ok. So I need to have a little patience.
Can you share what care did you take before germination?
    Thank you @pete8 and @Fairygirl .

I just clipped off some dead flower heads and emptied the seed into a glass.
Filled a tray with a 50/50 mix of compost and perlite, scattered the seed on top then covered it with grit, gave it a little water and left the tray behind my greenhouse in the shade. About 3 weeks later the seedling appeared and I moved them to the cold frame.

  • Thank you so much. I have never planted lavender before. I'll follow whatever you did. Thank you @Pete8 :)
