Last week's Gardeners' World

i think it was last week mind...Carol was talking about salvias and showed a close up of a gorgeous, purple variety with very billowy flowers - quite a tall salvia, about 2 ft I'd say.
I missed the name of it - saw the very same variety in Regents's Park secret garden and would love to get one for my new garden, some time.
Does anybody remember the name please?
Thanks 😊

Was it Amistad , d.shade? It's dark purple.
It's not small though - it gets to several feet usually.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

  • Amistad is one of the many Salvia guaranitica varieties I think. Black and blue is another one that I quite like.
  • I tend to record GW just for this reason your busy watching they give it a name and if you have a memory like a mine it's gone  :/ But at least I can rewind and pause with pen and paper at the ready  :)

The ones down the path to the secret garden in Regent's Park are Amistad, I think. And they are wonderful!

Very good idea - the cat had jumped me from behind the sofa, just as the name flagged up!
