I have been given a gift of Dog Tooth Violet bulbs. They have no instructions as to planting. Which end is "UP" they seem to have a pointy end and a flat end. Also should I plant them now and where is best ??????
All bulbs will correct themselves which ever way they are planted. I would plant vertically...pointy end up...4" deep. Quote Avon bulbs......
"Erythronium dens canis bulbs should be planted in a cool, humus rich, well-drained position, 3-4" (8-10cm) apart and will benefit from dappled shade in the spring and a drier rest in deeper shade in the summer."
