Cherry tomatoes

I'm going away for a few days and my cherry tomato plants are ripening and dropping the fruits daily. Can I cut the stems off and leave them on windowsill ? Will they still ripen if not attached to plant?

    As long as the fruits have started their ripening process [ie changing colour from dark green to a paler green ] they'll continue whether on the plant or not.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
