Fungi

I top dressed most of my potted plants with a thick layer of bark earlier this year,
On top of just one of the pots is this fungi, The fungi has been removed and put into my household rubbish bin
Good guy or not

  • Fungi are good ... they're breaking down organic matter in the soil to make it available to your plants' roots.

  • I expect it will cos the bit we see is only a tiny part of the fungus ... the rest is in the soil.  :)

     I thought it may be the bark decomposing further
  • Yes ... the fungi mycelium will be breaking it down.
