I would like help in identifying this fruit which was growing right next to a pear tree and close to a cooking apple tree.  At first I thought it was a "papple" but wonder whether it could be a wild quince.

They do look quince-like ... any areas of ‘fuzz’ on them?

  • Yes, some do have "fuzz"
  • Then for me that confirms them as quince. Lucky you. I’m deeply envious  :)
