    Autumn crocus, colchicum ?

    Colchicum ... autumn crocus ... (aka Naked Ladies, Naked Boys).   Leaves grow in the summer then disappear ... flowers appear on their own 'naked'. 
    Must pop out and see if mine have appeared yet ......

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    ... they are autumn crocus, yes.
