I spent all day yesterday lifting turf and I ache all over.
Fingers crossed for not too many heavy deliveries.

Morning  all/afties Pat. We can send you ]and Glenys] some rain over - we had plenty yesterday and more to come today. Drizzling just now. Mild though.
Not read back again. Struggling to keep up. Hope you have a good day at work Hosta.
Lovely big horse chestnut near us is looking quite golden. Really lovely. First to get their spring clothes, and first to turn properly.
Can't believe it's September already though. Where did August go?
John McCain's daughter's speech yesterday at his funeral. Superb. Not aimed at Tango man or anything... :D
For anyone who hasn't seen Beechgrove yet - have the subtitles on for the wee wifey [with 'the hair' [ near the end.  ;)

    Hiya Dove.  <3
    Devon.
  • Ah that explains why my back is so sore ... I’ve obviously come out in sympathy @Hostafan1 ... I spent yesterday evening flat on my back and had to take some Solpadeine to get to sleep ... a nuisance cos OH is going to help me with some gardening today ...

Re. The Plumcot, the birds have beaten me to them every year 😡, so I haven’t tasted them yet either.
    Morning Dove and Hosta.

It's quite damp here Pat. Very autumnal, although a couple of weeks later than normal. We can normally feel the change in the air as soon as August arrives. We had proper summery weather this year though.  :)
    Glad LP's op went well.

Hiya @Fairygirl, sorry I missed you . No rain here either, but if it holds off for another 3 days I'll be able to finish my little project. Then it can chuck it down.
I think we've run out of flippin' oil again. WHY CAN'T WE HAVE MAINS GAS ?????

Hubby has just said " I think I'll go back to bed when you go. I'm very tired". He slept for 10 hours last night!!

The rain eventually stopped yesterday afternoon Hosta - so I got some painting and planting done.
Hope it clears a bit today so that I can build my little storage box thingy. They tell you to paint/stain  it twice before assembly, then again afterwards. Jeez - I'm not moving into the ru**y  thing. It's had one coat, and a few touch ups, and that'll have to do it. It can take it's chances along with everything else in the garden  :D
Hosta - have you maybe got a leak in your oil tank?
I watched G's W last night. Wasn't overly keen on a lot of that big garden. Too many wishy washy grasses for me. The 'building' [ and the house itself ] was lovely though, and the sunken area. Didn't really get the kitchen garden if it didn't have edibles. Not really a kitchen garden then is it - or did I miss something?
