Has anyone any experience with Piper Nigrum and how to keep it alive over winter?
in Fruit & veg
Just for fun I popped the seeds in two months ago and they've shot right up, looking glossy and beautiful. However, winter's around the corner and this is not a UK hardy plant.
I don't have a conservatory I can keep humid over winter, as some advice pages suggest online. The nights indoors might be too cold in my house. Thought about a heated tray or mat, but not sure how much they'd cost to run every night from now till late spring?
Anyone got experience in this plant? Is it doomed to die. Do I need to move to India to grow it?
