What is this on my Leeks?

Can anyone confirm if this is early leek rust on my crop? This is my first year growing them in a no dig bed. They’ve been watered sufficiently throughout the drought and we’ve had barely any rain in three months here in Sheffield. Could it be some type of pest? They are covered with mesh to prevent leek moth. The markings are not orange. If it is rust, is the crop still edible?

any advice would be really helpful :smile:
