Which Dahlia is this?

BalaBala Posts: 113
I bought Dahlia seeds at Wilko but forgot the name.  Does anyone know what kind of Dahlia is this - Dwarf?, Double? etc

Is it a dahlia? It looks like , what used to be called , an Aster.

Yes, it's an annual 'aster', now called Callistephus. Very pretty, but can't be overwintered.

I am very sure these are Dahlias.  Because I have Aster's too.  Their foliage is different from this.  These are my Asters

Sorry, but those 'asters' are zinnias! Were they from wilko too?

Yes, they were from Wilko. In recent years, I have found that Wilko seeds have one of the highest germination rates and have a great quality.

You are right, these are Zinnias and the top one is indeed Aster.  Just checked my bills :-)

     ;)
I buy a lot of seeds from wilko too.
At the end of the season, they're very good at reducing the whole lot to 10p a pack. Well worth a punt as most seeds will keep at least a year or two longer than the " plant before" date.

That's very true, just now picked 4 asiatic lilies for 25p :-).

By the way, just wondering if it is OK to move move (replant) aster now to a different location?.  Only one of mine has blooms, the rest are not yet started.

    Thanks
