Plant ID pls?

Hi, I am after medium / tall perennials and I happened to see one of them in an image (yellow flower, tall, kind of spiky).  Would appreciate some help in identifying it?

    Solidago rugosa. Lots of different cultivars of varying heights and invasiveness.

    Can be quite invasive. It's on my personal non grata plants list. >:)

    I found some buried when I cleared some dogwood and it hadn't invaded, probably due to overcrowding. I do know that for a considerable part of the year it sits in a pool of water so it's obviously quite accommodating.
