    That's a nice species rose, but unfortunately it wouldn't be that one... phone apps can be quite useful sometimes though...

  • I want to thank all who commented on the possible identity of my rose. It is in the ground and flourishing. Yesterday, in a local plant store I came across the 'Astronomia', and I think that last comment from Marlorena is probably the answer. It is marketed under differant names in differant nations. The plant at the shop was not in flower, but I add a photo of my rose, today, in flower and in bud, for your comments. Grazie!

    Thanks for getting back to us, I had been wondering about it...  such a pretty bloom.. and thanks to Jemula for getting the right rose there, from her Wisley photos, so I can't take credit for that...
