Could anyone identify this plant please? It just sprang up in my garden and seems to be growing bigger by the minute! Bit scary. I haven't planted it just appeared. Thank you.

After much research re one of these in my garden last year we narrowed it down to one of the Guizotia species. Sold as Nyger seed for the birds.

Ah yes that makes sence now as it is close to our hanging bird feeders. So thank you for that. Think I will let it carry on growing and see how it turns out. As long as it isn't a dangerous plant?

It's not hardy, whatever happens it will be all over at the first frost. Mine never got to flower but I have seen them flower in other gardens. Yellow daisy type flower
