UK drought

I've noticed that the last couple of days have had very high humidity whilst remaining very hot.  Overnight temperatures of about 13/14 C but daytimes hitting 28 C … in the morning my (long-ish) grass is soaked with autumnal dew and the soil seems to be retaining moisture, a few mushrooms have even popped up.

Does anybody on here know whether the plants suffer the drought less with this humidity than if it was dry air?  

I am watering a lot but it does feel as if the soil a few inches down is more than slightly moist ...

I would imagine so, although I don't know the science behind it. If there's humidity in the air then I presume the leaves are soaking it in?

Same here, for the last two days at least.

I think it may depend on the plant. The ones that originate in humid climates love it but those from dry climates may develop mould.
