my Acer has started to show bare patches on the branches. It has a good soak at least once a week and a comfy feed every month. It’s around 7 years old and has been repotted several times
It's probably dry. They need huge amounts of water when in pots - even in an ordinary summer. They'll shed leaves to help avoid too much water loss, and preserve themselves. Or did you mean bare sections of the actual branch - the bark?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
