What do i do here!?

Hi guys.
About 6 weeks ago i dressed my lawn with some liquid fertilizer. We then went away for a week on holiday which was annoyingly when the UK Heatwave kicked in.
On return, half of the lawn was lovely and green, the other half really badly damaged by the sun and full of weeds.
Reason for this is the house (where i'm standing) shades the first half of the lawn half of the day so it was being protected. The other half is in the sun all day long.
Question is - what's best to do here? I don't really want to wait another few months and hope it gets better...

When you do reseed scatter some of the seed you use on the good end too, so that any discrepancy in colour of grass blends together.
