Name that Anemone!

BraidmanBraidman Posts: 269
Three years ago I treated myself to three varieties of Anemones, a couple of each, Wild Swan, Ruffled Swan and another white one which I have lost the labels and also forgotten the name off!

It is very white with golden centre but the back of the flower is pale green!
I would be very appreciative if anyone could come up with a name please!

Definitely would not recommend Wild Swan to anyone as it has a death wish, closely followed by Ruffled Swan, I was lucky enough to get cuttings of both the original original plants the cuttings have survived but I have now lost all four original Swan plants

Many thanks!

Sorry, it hasn't flowered this season yet, lots of growth but no buds!

If it's a single, around 3 or 4 feet, my guess would be Honorine Joubert as it's the most common white available. There are also semi doubles [I have  Whirlwind ] but again, there are quite a few varieties available, all at about a couple of feet, so it's difficult to make a guess.

    Hi Fairygirl,

The name does not ring a bell, but I have googled it and out of the dozens of photographs one print actually shows the rear of one of the flowers and it appears yellowish green, so I think you have got it!

Also have Whirlwind it was good last season, this season a few miserable buds so far!

Anyway, many thanks for your help!

No probs Braidman  -it's tricky without a photo, but I thought if you had a few suggestions, it might jog your memory  ;)
There's a lovely nursery I discovered, while searching for a few things, called Ballyrobert Gardens. They have loads of different types if you want to take a look  :)
