Delphinium and nepeta variety recommendations

Jason-3Jason-3 Posts: 391
Hi all,

1 I'm after an upright, erect delphinium type in either white or pink spectrum. I realy need a strong variety as mine even with support have been battered recently with the wind. Full sun with amended clay/loam soil

2. A nepeta variety that is not too tall, with a long flowering period that tolerates semi shade. Idealy nothing floppy I. E walkers low

Thanks in advance

  • I  personally like the white variety of Delphinium Sandpiper. I grow mine through supports positioned in the spring when the shoots are only a few inches tall. I have had no problems with wind and mine are exposed.

Delphinium 'Guardian White' is fairly robust , but as said above , plant supports are always a good idea .

Forgot about the Nepeta ; N.racemosa 'Little Titch' is fairly low growing .

I like Nepeta Summer Magic. Not too tall, long flowering and cats don't seem to want to roll in it and scratch it to pieces as much as other nepeta varieties.
