ID Please!

1634 Racine

Any idea what this is?  I have chopped it right back a couple of times and it just springs back up.  Currently around 5ft tall and multi-stemmed.  Never seen any flowers.

It's an Ash tree which has been cut to the ground at some point and now the roots are sending up new shoots.  It will be quite hard work to dig out the roots but worth it as they are a pest which will grow to 20 feet tall in a couple of years and 70+ feet tall in 15-20 years.  Not tree for a garden unless it's a very large one.

I might just continue to keep cutting it back every year then.  I quite like it as a foliage plant

Yes, I would get rid as deep and as soon as you can.
