    You cant take cuttings from Marigolds or Gerbera, you can collect seeds and sow them next March. 
    I don’t know what scelosia is.

    Celosia plumensis   and Celosia cristata (cockscomb) is also grown from seed.

    I stuck some bits that accidentally came off my red Coreopsis when deadheading, I quickly dipped them rooting powder about 4/5 weeks ago,and they are now growing like mad,and having to pinch out the tiny buds that keep appearing. Well worth doing some perennials as they are so expensive to buy.
    The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.

    Definitely worth it for perenials, my garden’s full of cuttings from mine and other people’s plants.
